VIRGINIA LUCAS HART

Glimpses of Lately

family, updateVirginia Hart2 Comments

While we spent most of the weekend in the car battling horrendous (but now laughable) traffic & torrential rain, Patrick & I had a great little Thanksgiving celebration with my family. It was wonderful to see everyone even though I'm left, as always, feeling like it was way too short of a trip. Despite loving my life in NYC, I hate living so far away. Hate.  My youngest niece hugged me goodbye with a, "I wish I could see you more, Aunt Ginny." -- yup, like a dagger to the heart :( I'm happy to report, however, that Patrick fell in love with our wedding venue! We obviously have our fingers crossed for better weather next year, but we've decided to not stress about things outside our control.

Okay, that's a total lie. That's what Patrick told me we have to do so I'm repeating it until I actually feel that way. Wish me luck.

We also might have seen some genuine grins from the big guy during the engagement photos since he was laughing at his crazy side-kick (moi) half the time. Since, ya know, I might have worn a ridiculous hat for some of the pics. And no, there' s no guarantee I'm sharing them ;)

Here are some pics from the week & weekend!

our wedding cake trial was disappointingly a "no" - I wanted to like it so much!  Alas, we're back to square one with that situation. My brother, however,  made a delicious & Pinterest-worthy pumpkin roll and cheesecake so maybe we should just hire him :) P.S. How good does that dish of pumpkin candy corn ^^^ look right about now?

perhaps my cake palate isn't very refined because I did love this grocery store cake! ^^^

we ended our weekend at home by waking up to a little love in the Sunday paper. ^^^
