28 facts about me

  1. I used to be the pickiest eater as a child, and only ate things that were round. No joke. I eat pretty much anything now. 'Cept for beets. They taste like dirt to me.
  2. I was born 2 weeks early when my mom was 38. I was 5 lbs, with black hair and eyes slanted down at the outside corners like a puppy dog, with a knot on my head. Still have it.
  3. My name could have been Laura Brook. Or James Austin, the III.
  4. I never went to kindergarten.
  5. My favorite piece of jewelry as a child was a Polly Pocket locket necklace that held a little girl living in the tiniest apartment (foreshadowing?) and a picture of me blowing bubbles on the beach.
  6. One of my dreams is to draw and design my own coloring book.
  7. My brothers taught me how to only cross one eye.
  8. I chew gum to help me focus or if I'm taking an important test.
  9. I'm most comfortable driving barefoot.
  10. I sang in our high school Glee Club.
  11. I taught dance at summer camp.
  12. I used to be pretty darn good at the piano until my teacher died and I stopped playing.
  13. Patrick doesn't believe 10, 11, or 12.
  14. My go-to snack at a rest stop is a Cow Tale.
  15. I always ask for V8 juice on a plane, but it's the only time I drink it.
  16. I had a secret hiding place in our yard growing up called Annaleebee.
  17. I've never had a cavity.
  18. I grew up with rottweilers. They have a bad rep, but they're the sweetest.
  19. Santa outdid himself one year and got me a real pony.
  20. When I got my ears pierced as a little girl, I squealed "It's a miracle!" really loud.
  21. I used to have the biggest crush on Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables.
  22. I named everyone in our family after Winnie-the-Pooh characters. I was Roo.
  23. Cleaning and shopping alone are my personal therapies.
  24. My right hand is noticeably bigger than my left hand.
  25. Speaking of, I used to make my hands talk to one another to make myself fall asleep as a child.
  26. When I moved to NYC, I interviewed to be Martha Stewart's third assistant. I made it to the last round, but was told I was too young and inexperienced.
  27. I require a hair tie on my wrist at all times, and I freak out if I can't find one.
  28. Today, I turn 28.

p.s. It's been an incredible day so far! Today is also my Friday and my parents are on their way...can't stop smiling!

p.p.s. My day started with this video from my niece who's in England for the semester. I watched it four times before I got out of bed :)
