little snippets of my long weekend!
I treated myself to a birthday manicure! "Significant Other Color" by O.P.I. ^^^
My 28th started off with the sweetest of cards and a special blue box. ^^^
Patrick got me a nice planner ^^^ I've been eyeing for a while.
I use mine every single day (keeps me sane) so it's such the perfect gift!
I love that he got it stamped with my initials, too.
He was so cute and told me, "Next birthday you'll be my wife!" It's wild to think, really.
^^^ This artwork from elementary school fell off the wall months ago and shattered. I was too sad and frustrated to do anything about it so I threw it in the garbage. Unbeknownst to me, P took it out and had it cleaned and re-framed...
^^^ a dark 'n' stormy & a mint gelato Oreo sundae (yes) were my birthday treats.
with my Mom & stepdad after an incredible dinner here. (would highly recommend!)
funny story about this picture, though...
We left the restaurant and my stepdad asked a man walking up the sidewalk if he would mind taking our picture. He was British and very friendly, making sure we angled correctly with the light and everything. He even shouted, "Happy Birthday!" when he found out why were celebrating. He handed my phone back, and I told him he looked familiar...he smiled...lo and behold, it was Ralph Fiennes! That's right. We burdened a celeb to take our pic. Where we saw him has become my lucky celeb-spotting corner. I've seen Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Liv Tyler, Cameron Diaz, the Olsen twins, Philip Seymore Hoffman, Robin Williams, and now Voldemort! All within a few feet.
^^^ Patrick took me out for a birthday drink later that night when he got home from work. We discovered the cutest little bar in our neighborhood that might be our new favorite spot. We sat there for a couple hours and had one of those great talks you don't get a chance to have often in the hustle & bustle of life. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day.
Patrick & me ^^^ waiting on my mom in Central Park early Saturday morning. It was a bit chilly, but such a pretty day!
^^^ our view from brunch at the Central Park Boathouse.
I don't know WHY it's taken me over 6 years to go there...it's a gem!
isn't she the cutest? ^^^
Also, that waffle. !!!
we look sleepy! ^^^ what do you think of P's holiday beard?
They were designed & installed by one of my dear friends!
Ok so bridal salons are like a fantasy! ^^^
We went to Monique Lhuillier first and were helped by a fabulous man named Frank...who was a mixture of Franc from Father of the Bride and Anthony Marentino from Sex and the City :) I tried on 4 or 5 dresses and then we made our way to our second appointment at Kleinfeld...and my dress was the second one I tried on! It was such a special moment, outing, and day and I'm so thankful I got to go with my mom. I know it's something I'll never forget.
It snowed on their last night here! ^^^ I just love this picture.
We wrapped up the weekend with a lovely Sunday supper with friends in Brooklyn. Check out their view! ^^^
^^^ and in other news, I'm officially in elf mode.
Pardon any absence as I work on my own Christmas projects plus commissioned ones as well.
I will be taking on new work starting in February!
Also, I will be adding a couple little things to the shop for the holidays in case you're interested :)
